The curry chicken rice is very delicious and perfectly balanced—not too salty. The banana cake is packed with real banana and is quite filling. …

We stopped by Toast Box at Jewel Changi Airport for a quick meal, and it was a mixed bag with some pleasant surprises. The Highlights: Mee Rebus: This was the star of the meal! It was very good—much better than we expected from a chain outlet. The gravy was rich, flavorful, and had the right consistency. Definitely a dish I'd order again. Polo Bun (菠萝油): This was done just right. It’s surprisingly difficult to find a place that nails the butter-to-bun ratio, but they did it here. The butter was cold while the bun was still warm, creating that perfect contrast in temperature and texture. Coffee: Good standard Toast Box coffee—strong, aromatic, and consistent. The Miss: Soft Boiled Eggs: Unfortunately, these were undercooked and a bit too watery for my liking. They lacked that perfect, slightly set white that you look for in a good half-boiled egg. Cakes: The Gula Melaka cake was decent, but lacking a bit of the Gula Melaka flavour. Banana cake was also average and just a bit dry. Overall, a solid option at Jewel if you're craving local favorites, especially the Mee Rebus and Polo Bun.
